SUMMARY

The people of Ado-Ikosi in Agbowa, Odo-Onosa, Ajebo, Ketu, Ejinrin, Temu, Noforija, Mojoda, Ibowon, Igboye and Jengbede communities in Epe local government area have been provided with boreholes worth millions of naira. In addition, standby generators were provided to power the operation of the boreholes given the epileptic supply of power by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria. According to him, the people deserve access to pure students at the primary and secondary school levels in the affected communities.

Each student in all the 31 secondary schools in Eredo/Ikosi-Ejinrin constituency was given five notebooks, which were envisaged to be used as learning materials and studying tools in the course of their educational pursuits. The gesture, according to the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy, Security and Publicity, Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Segun Olulade, was borne out his desire to improve the standard living of the people in the area, adding that the people deserve access to potable water without any let or hindrance. Emphasizing the need for him to give back to the society that produced him, Olulade said that these projects were done with his meager statutory income and not from any constituency project grant or the other.

Among those who graced the occasion were Honourable Abiodun Tobun, the Chairman, House Committee on Environment matters, Lagos State House of Assembly; Dr Leke Pitan, former Lagos State Commissioner for Health and Education; Alhaji Seriki Bamu, the Vice-Chairman (Lagos East), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Lagos State; Hon. Abiodun Adebayo, the Vice-Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area; Chief Olayemi, a former Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area; the Abowa of Agbowa, Oba Joseph Odumeru; the Ayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe and many notable personalities, community leaders, women leaders, stakeholders in the educational sector and stalwarts of the ACN in Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs and beyond.

In his remarks, Dr Leke Pitan said that Hon. Segun Olulade has brought in a paradigm shift in legislative delivery, especially in the political history of the whole Epe Division through his generous contribution to the upliftment of the educational system in his constituency with his meager personal income, even as he urged other public office holders to take a cue from Olulade’s shining example. He added that the sterling performance of Hon. Olulade was an eloquent testimony to his high sense of responsibility as well as his commitment to the lofty programmes of the ACN.
