Chairman, House Committee on Health Services of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade, has again urged Nigerians not to lose hope and confidence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that “the change promised before the 2015 General Elections may seem slow but will materialise very soon.”
Olulade in a statement issued on Wednesday, explained that even a blind man in the country can see that the situation of the country, especially as it has to do with the economy, seems not to be palatable “but we should be mindful of the fact that President Buhari’s administration is trying its best to ensure that all Nigerians smile in the end.”
The lawmaker, who is representing Epe Constituency II in the Assembly, pointed out that despite the current situation, which has forced a lot of Nigerians to start lamenting, “this administration is not deaf to the cries of the people. I am optimistic that things would soon start getting better and the impact of the government would soon be felt by all and sundry.
“The President is determined to turn things around. Change is not easy and the change that was advocated will be irrevocable when this administration is finally done. Though, things may appear difficult at the moment, it will not be long before Nigerians start deriving the full benefits of the current policies of government which are designed to reposition the country and improve on the prevailing economic situation.
“When we overwhelmingly voted the President in 2015, we all wanted him to fight corruption to a stand-still, and that is what he has been doing; we wanted our country to stop depending only on oil and that is what the President has been doing, working tirelessly to diversify the economy. We all wanted Buhari to rebuild Nigeria and create a new one and that is all he has been doing.
“We all wanted him to instil fiscal discipline in the system and he has been doing that; we all wanted him to stop the wastage of the resources of our country and it is very obvious that he has been doing all these things; We only need to give him time and support him with our prayers so that he can record total success,” the statement read in part.
While appealing to Nigerians to exercise patience, Olulade said there is no pain without gain, just as he expressed confidence in the abilities of Buhari to turn the country around for the better, and bring the country out of the woods.
