Fayose Has Reduced Ekiti People to Food Matters – Olulade

The lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade has criticised the Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, saying he has reduced his people to food matters.

Olulade, who was responding to Fayose’s recent statement in which he lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari over his (Buhari) victory claim on Boko Haram in the country, said “life is not all about eating food.”

Fayose was quoted in some sections of the media as saying “there is nothing glorifying about victory of the Army in the Sambisa Forest while millions of Nigerians still go to bed hungry.”

Olulade, who noted that the Ekiti State Governor’s criticisms are predictable, myopic, added that he (Fayose) will never see anything good about the present federal government under the ruling party.

While wondering how Fayose has reduced the reputable Ekiti people to food matter, the lawmaker said “life is not all about eating food. First, it was all about stomach infrastructures, a lexicon which originated from Ekiti.

“Now that Nigerians and the International community are praising the present administration on its victory over the deadly boko haram insurgent, the Governor has nothing good to say than its mischievous claim that Nigerians are hungry.

“Who dare eat food when there is no peace? Food is important but there are other things that are equally important to our daily lives, such as security” Olulade said.

He maintained that Fayose acts clandestinely to score political points by being unnecessarily noisy most times; “he only makes loud statements to weep sentiments around the prevailing economic hardship that the masses are confronted with. Good governance is not all about media statements.

“For instance, the people of Lagos know what their Governor is doing to deliver good governance even if the Governor does not take to pages of newspapers to make noise about it.

“It’s high time Fayose started balancing his criticism about President Buhari or reduce himself to a mere joker. Victory over insurgence is key to national development and investments, which will in turn enable us have a stable economy that can provide adequate food for everyone to eat without fear.

“Life is not just about stomach infrastructures; the present government did not create food scarcity, rather we only witnessed the reality of running a dependent economy which is not too good for national prosperity in the current global economic crisis.

While praising Nigerians for enduring with the present government and assuring that everyone will soon smile as major factors (insecurity and corruption) impeding their happiness are gradually being defeated by the government, he said “this time shall pass and there is nothing to worry about as the recession will soon wind down.”
