The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 37 new Heads of Administration in the Unified Local Government Service.
The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Babatunde Rotinwa, who disclosed during the Commission’s meeting on Monday at the Old Secretariat, Ikeja, explained that the development is to further consolidate on the gains of the reforms in the State Public Service.
He added that apart from the 37 newly appointed Heads of Administration, 20 other Heads of Administration have been redeployed to different Local Government and Local Council Development Areas.
Rotinwa maintained that since the Local Government is the closest to the populace, any effort aimed at strengthening it is a step in the right direction which will at the same time infuse new ideas, reinvigorate revenue drive and boost staff morale and productivity in the long run.
He however used the opportunity to express appreciation on behalf of the Governor to all Heads of Administration for their commitment, loyalty and cooperation over the years and urged them to continue with the same spirit in their new offices with renewed dedication and commitment.
