Lagos LG Auditor-General Begins Inspection of Projects

The Lagos State Auditor-General for Local Governments is set to embark on project inspection exercise in all the 20 Local Governments (LGs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State to enable the Office to find out how judiciously the LG/LCDAs utilise funds.

A statement made available by the Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments, Mr. Musibau Jimoh, said that this year’s exercise will commence on 12th and end on 30th September, 2016 with specific focus on projects undertaken and completed between January and December 2015.

The statement noted that in order to ensure a hitch free exercise, experienced and qualified engineers in diverse fields from the office of Works and Infrastructure, Lagos State Development and Property Corporation and Ministry of Waterfront &Infrastructure have been co-opted to strengthen the audit team with the requisite technical competences.

The Auditor-General for Local Governments sought maximum support from the management teams of all local governments and local council developments areas to ensure prompt, transparent and timely completion of the assignment.
