PSSDC organises effective leadership skills workshop for LASIEC staff

The Public Service Staff Development Centre collaborates with Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to organise Effective Leadership Skills Workshop for Staff of the Commission in a bid to deepen capacity building of Public Servants in Lagos state has.

Declaring the workshop open, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olumide Lawal explained that the workshop was necessitated by policy thrust of the current administration to prioritise capacity building for public servants and provide adequate funding to achieve its objectives.

He therefore urged all officers undergoing the capacity building programme to grab the opportunity provided by the training to improve their service delivery.

Speaking at the workshop, the Director General, PSSDC, Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo expressed readiness of the Centre to continue the collaboration with government institutions to deepen capacity building of officers in the public service of the State and beyond, pointing out that leadership skills are the bane of transformation without which there would be no creativity, innovation and change.

She stressed that “it is imperative to continue to hone leadership skills to promote service delivery excellence for a result-oriented system. Effective leadership skills also entails that the LASIEC officers should be conversant with the rules and regulations governing the conduct of government business.”

Mrs. Fabamwo reiterated that the workshop is designed to expose the participants to requisite knowledge, skills and attitudinal re-orientation in tandem with the overall vision of the present administration for excellent service delivery.

The three-day course is expected to expose the officers to the contemporary issues in human resource management and their roles as officers to champion reforms in State policy.
