What One Lagos Fiesta Has Done Among Youth – Olulade

Member representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade has said that the One Lagos Fiesta initiated by the administration Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, has in a way eliminated thugery, hooliganism and other social vices among the youth.

Olulade, who noted that the One Lagos Fiesta was a way of creatively engaging the youths to bring out the best in them, pointed out that the initiative has come to stay and will be legacy for successive administrations to come in the state.

While commending the state government for coming up with the fiesta, the lawmaker said “I must appreciate the way and manner our youth comported themselves during the Christmas period. Gone are the days where carnivals would end up becoming a battle front.

“We know what we used to witness in the past; youth will organize carnivals and street jams and they will end such carnivals with fights and engage in all forms of hooliganism. But the One Lagos Fiesta as the name implies, is something that has brought all our youth together to particular locations where they can merry and celebrate together.

“I really want to commend the youth for this year’s celebration and I am hoping and believing that they will continue in this manner till we enter into 2017 when we will all say ‘Happy New Year’.

“It is a thing of joy that people could come together in selected locations and have the best of fun without having to travel to a far place. This is a good initiative from the Ambode’s administration and I am optimistic that successive administration will keep this up and improve on it,” Olulade said.

Speaking further, he explained that just as the fiesta has brought about the maintenance of peace to the state; it has also brought about the promotion and advancement of the economy of the state.
